09. Patron filet à provisions "Tutti Frutti" au crochet : L'alliance du rock, des fruits et de l'éthique

Hello knitters and cheer up!

Today I'm offering you a supercharged article with a new pattern that smells of rock 'n' roll, applesauce and cherry clafoutis...

What if we went for a trip to the market with the adorable Tutti Frutti shopping net?

I don't know about you, but I'm a fruit addict: I love them all: from watermelon to blackberry, banana to kiwi, they're like nature's candy. Of course, I enjoy them all year round, but what a pleasure, when the good weather arrives, to stock up on sun-drenched fruits such as melon or peaches ...

Tutti Frutti was born from a mixture of family discussions, with my aunt, who loves shopping nets, with my big brother, who told me that the word frutti was fashionable among teenagers and with my niece who is, like me, passionate about crochet! I discovered rock'n'roll with the 33 rpm Jive Rabbit in 1989, I was then 4 years old. The energy as well as the carefree attitude of this music appealed to me instantly. Nearly 30 years before suggesting that I create my own yarn shop, my brother posed with this record, one of the cornerstones of my life.

The origin of the term Fruity or Frutti comes from Polari, an English slang used by marginalized communities in the 19th century and was used to refer to a man who liked men. Homosexuality was heavily repressed at the time and one had to resort to stratagems to speak freely. While Little Richard can be heard talking about a certain Daisy in the 1955 track Tutti Frutti, this in no way reflects the first version initially performed on stage, which spoke very crudely of a frutti man in the Polari sense of the term.

Fascinated by fruits, rock and linguistics, it didn't take much for my new creation to have a name that is both deliciously familiar and incredibly mysterious...

My assistant and model Murray is never the last to clown around, as you know!

This pattern requires good crochet skills.
