Who is Wolly Roger?

Wolly Roger, the pirate ball, travels the world in search of woolly treasures.
Resolutely Alsatian, Wolly Roger takes its name from the famous pirate flag Jolly Roger and Woll, which means wool in the land of storks.
Passionate about knitting and piracy, I wanted above all to create a mischievous universe, a thousand miles from the more classic atmosphere of the wool shops I had encountered until then.
The idea of bringing together two seemingly contradictory passions took root and Wolly Roger, the pirate ball, was born one December evening.
Amid the comic fiction and terrifying legends lies one truth about pirates: they created a code of conduct that governed their activities. This code was based primarily on principles of democracy and solidarity. Our values are inspired by their ethical teachings.

Here is the Woolly Pirates' code of honor:

1. Wolly Roger is a high-standard pirate: he only brings back from his expeditions products whose added value has a social, environmental or animal welfare impact.
2. Wolly Roger is a sensitive pirate, nothing infuriates him more than seeing devastated landscapes and irritated skin: he only selects yarns that have been dyed with Oeko-Tex and/or AZO-free certified dyes.
3. Wolly Roger, a kind pirate, would not like to have his skin cut off, which is why he guarantees his sons mulesing-free.
4. Wolly Roger is a solidarity pirate: he favors products from certified cooperatives, family businesses or those favoring integration through employment.
5. Wolly Roger is a pirate full of common sense, he knows that animal and plant fibers are both a source of wealth for those who produce them and comfort for those who wear them: in his chests we find very little plastic materials and only recycled ones (except sock yarn).
I wish you a good navigation.
Bis ball!
